Young Dancer’s Programme at DanceBermuda
presented by the Ross Blackie Talbot Charity Classic
The Young Dancer’s Programme presented by the Ross Blackie Talbot Charity Classic is the internationally-acclaimed curriculum created by the artistic director and staff of the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School of Dance at American Ballet Theatre. This comprehensive curriculum was piloted in Bermuda in 2006 through the funding of the Ross “Blackie” Talbot Charity Classic. The curriculum is now taught throughout the New York City public school system as a part of dance instruction for young people.
The Young Dancer’s Programme includes not only ballet, jazz and character dance instruction but also classes in the history of dance as well as in music study.It has been tailored to meet the developmental needs of the younger dancer and runs concurrently with the international summer intensive DanceBermuda programme on the campus of the Bermuda High School.

The Foundation’s annual calendar of training, featuring master teachers representing a wide spectrum of dance disciplines, contributes to a superlative dance education experience.
Scholarships and financial assistance provides funding to successful applicants each year, representing an investment in the development of dance in Bermuda. Recipients return to Bermuda after gaining professional experience overseas and apply their skills and knowledge for the benefit of the Bermuda dance community, helping to raise the standard of dance excellence in Bermuda.
