The mission of the National Dance Foundation of Bermuda is to help raise the standard of dance excellence in Bermuda by providing world-class training to the Island's talented dancers, teachers and choreographers.   As a registered charity and a company limited by guaranty, the Foundation is funded by private, corporate and Government donors who believe in the positive impact that dance on the development of Bermuda's youth and who invest in programmes and scholarships that benefit hundreds of students across the Island.

The Foundation's Board represents highly respected members of the Island's dance and business community whose collective experience and expertise ensure that funds are managed with the utmost accountability.  The fiscal year of the National Dance Foundation of Bermuda is October 1 - September 30.  Annual financial statements are audited by PricewaterhouseCoopers, filed with the Charities Commission and posted on the Foundation's web site.

The Foundation's commitment to Bermuda's dance community is that no applicant qualifying for admission is turned away because of financial need.  Merit scholarships and financial assistance totaling $45,600 were granted to 37 of the 59 Bermuda dancers participating in DanceBermuda 2007.  In the past two years, almost $200,000 has been awarded in scholarships and bursaries for dance study in Bermuda and overseas.
